Started in the heart of the College View neighborhood in Lincoln, Summit Lawns is not just a lawn care company; it’s a childhood passion turned into a thriving business. Our founder, Ted Glaser, embarked on his green journey at merely 8 years old, mowing lawns for his dad’s rental properties with the help of a college student-turned-chauffeur. His teen years saw him independently managing the properties with his trusty little Ford Ranger, sprouting the seeds for what would later become Lincoln’s favorite lawn care company.
Upon graduating from Union College in 2013, Ted, infused with both knowledge and ambition, steered Summit Lawns into the highly competitive world of commercial landscaping. Between 2013 and 2017, we experienced exponential growth, cultivating partnerships with high-profile clients like Gateway Mall and Bryan Health Hospitals. But in 2017, a pivotal decision was made to cut the company back, exit the vast majority of our contracts, and start over again. Although it was a hit to the ego and difficult to cut back so much, it allowed us to hone our focus on where our heart truly lies: residential clients and small commercial properties.
Why the drastic change? Well, we took a step back and noticed a few ugly truths : The lawn care and landscaping industry as a general collective has a smudge on it. It’s riddled with unprofessionalism, grimy and dirty dudes, rusty trucks, unmet expectations, and poor customer experiences. Sounds pretty lame, right? So we decided to fix that.
At Summit Lawns, we’re on a mission to build a new generation of lawn care. You can have a gorgeous yard that you’re not embarrassed of, with a Chick-Fil-A level customer service. We’re making lawn care sexy and cool through technology, casual/fun/innovative interactions with our clients, and frankly having some pride in our appearances. We’re the highest rated lawn care company in the history of Lincoln (and soon to be the entire state of Nebraska 😉), and we’re on a journey to build Nebraska’s largest and most impactful lawn care company for homeowners.
Through a few passion projects, we’re significantly impacting our community. Check it out: Random Acts of Clean Up – We revitalize and clean up overgrown homes and landscapes at no cost to the resident Snow Angels – we provide free snow removal all winter long for neighbors in need.
It’s kind of cool to have a job that’s so wildly visual and so intensely appreciated when done well 😎.
Our mission matters now, more than ever.
Today, Summit Lawns proudly tends to 1000s of properties across Lincoln, Omaha, and Southeast Nebraska, with that number growing each year. Our growth is fueled not just by our expertise in lawn care but by our unwavering dedication to two fundamental values: cherishing our employees and delivering unparalleled customer service. When you choose Summit Lawns, you’re not just getting a service; you’re becoming a part of a story that’s sown with dedication, nurtured with care, and blossoms with genuine, green delight.
Join us in our journey and let’s cultivate a green, lush community together!
Our Core Values
No Crew Left Behind: We are helpful to each other, even if it’s not our job. Someone else is having a hard time and needs an extra hand to finish out the day? No problem, we got you homie. We’re open to take on new tasks and work together as a team to knock out anything, even if it’s not part of your “regular” job.
Own it: Mess up on the job? That’s ok, we all make mistakes! Take ownership in the mistake, acknowledge it happened, and participate in fixing the problem. Take ownership of our equipment by respecting it and taking care of it.
Embrace the Suck: Let’s face it, we’re not always working in an air-conditioned office. The fact is, we work outside in rain, snow, and sunshine. We chose this job, so let’s have some fun with it! Splash in a puddle, throw a snowball, slap a smile on your face, and let’s finish the job together with a positive attitude (even when equipment breaks). Enjoy the ride.
Don’t Be a D**k: This pretty much means what it says. We’re all about treating each other and our customers with respect, being responsible and having a sense of humor.
No Lawn is as Good as a Summit Lawn: In everything you do, do it to the best of your ability. Work with excellence and pride and show the world that no one else does it as well as we do.

3. Equipment Maintenance and Industry Compliance ● Keep your work spaces organized, clean, and ready for clients and recruits to visit at any time ● Ensure basic maintenance and cleaning is performed on schedule for all mowing equipment and vehicles ● Work with our Operations Coordinator as they manage equipment repairs.
Ultimately, your job is to Keep Mowing Flowing! Help us build and maintain a stable, highly efficient mowing operation with excellent quality.
