Started in the heart of the College View neighborhood in Lincoln, Summit Lawns is not just a lawn care company; it’s a childhood passion turned into a thriving business. Our founder, Ted Glaser, embarked on his green journey at merely 8 years old, mowing lawns for his dad’s rental properties with the help of a college student-turned-chauffeur. His teen years saw him independently managing the properties with his trusty little Ford Ranger, sprouting the seeds for what would later become Lincoln’s favorite lawn care company.
Upon graduating from Union College in 2013, Ted, infused with both knowledge and ambition, steered Summit Lawns into the highly competitive world of commercial landscaping. Between 2013 and 2017, we experienced exponential growth, cultivating partnerships with high-profile clients like Gateway Mall and Bryan Health Hospitals. But in 2017, a pivotal decision was made to cut the company back, exit the vast majority of our contracts, and start over again. Although it was a hit to the ego and difficult to cut back so much, it allowed us to hone our focus on where our heart truly lies: residential clients and small commercial properties.
Why the drastic change? Well, we took a step back and noticed a few ugly truths : The lawn care and landscaping industry as a general collective has a smudge on it. It’s riddled with unprofessionalism, grimy and dirty dudes, rusty trucks, unmet expectations, and poor customer experiences. Sounds pretty lame, right? So we decided to fix that.
At Summit Lawns, we’re on a mission to build a new generation of lawn care. You can have a gorgeous yard that you’re not embarrassed of, with a Chick-Fil-A level customer service. We’re making lawn care sexy and cool through technology, casual/fun/innovative interactions with our clients, and frankly having some pride in our appearances. We’re the highest rated lawn care company in the history of Lincoln (and soon to be the entire state of Nebraska 😉), and we’re on a journey to build Nebraska’s largest and most impactful lawn care company for homeowners.
